Why is freshness so important when it comes to chocolate?
When it comes to chocolates, the fresher the better. Chocolate is not like wine, it does not improve with age; in fact, the opposite it true, as chocolate ages, taste begins to suffer. To learn more about our Freshness Guarantee click here.
What is the cocoa content of your chocolates?
Cocoa butter content is certainly an important part of the chocolate making process. You'll find that especially tasty chocolates, like Dan's, use pure cocoa butter rather than other fat substitutes. Our dark chocolate has 64% cacao, which we feel is the perfect level - rich and dark but not too bitter.
Are your chocolates kosher?
Currently we do not offer kosher chocolates. Check back soon though as we are looking into this.
I am allergic to nuts. Do you offer chocolates that have no nuts in them?
We do have chocolates that do not contain nuts. However, all of our chocolates are made on the same production line, therefore our non-nut chocolates may have come into contact with nuts and/or nut oils.
Do you sell sugar free or low-carb chocolates?

Can I "build" my own box of chocolates?
We do not offer the ability to "build" your own box. However, we offer the following chocolate assortments:

Can I get a brochure or catalog?

SHIPPING QUESTIONS
Do you ship chocolates anywhere outside of the United States?
Currently, we ship only to United States addresses, which include the 48 contiguous states, Hawaii and Alaska.
Do you ship to PO Boxes or APO and FPO addresses?
We are not able to ship to PO Boxes or APO and FPO addresses because we exclusively ship using Fed Ex services, which do not deliver to PO Boxes or APO and FPO addresses. Because of the perishable nature of our chocolates and our freshness guarantee we cannot deliver to APO and FPO address because of the additional shipping time it takes to reach our customers.

Our primary offices are located in Burlington, Vermont.
Do you have any physical stores in which I can buy your chocolates?
Dan's Chocolates are available at high-quality gourmet retail and dining establishments.
CHARITY QUESTIONS
How much do you donate to charities?
Dan's Chocolates donates a portion of every box of chocolate sold to charity.
How does the donation process work and how do I know when the money has been sent?
It is a simple three-step process.

You purchase a box of Dan's Chocolates.

Dan's will donate a portion of your purchase to one of our charitable partners that you choose during the checkout process.

At the end of every quarter Dan's passes along the donations to the charities.

Can I choose a charity that is not on your list?
To maintain the integrity of our program, we only direct donations to the selected organizations that participate in our charitable partnership. Working closely with our charitable partners, we have assembled a broad list of cause related organizations from which you can select. Each of these organizations works closely with us to ensure that your donation is quickly received and put to use as soon as possible.
